Here we'll walk you through how to cap the number of responses per link and how to thank your respondents for completing the test — with a promocode or a custom bonus. Both options are available on Enterprise plans.
Responses limit
The limit automatically closes response collection once you've gathered your target sample size. Handy when you need exactly 50 or 100 responses — no more, no less.
How to set a limit
Open the Invite respondents section → Share via link.
In the Responses limit row, click the edit icon.
Enter the number you need and click Save.
After that, a collected / limit counter will appear in the settings — for example, 5 / 100.
How to change or reset the limit
Just click the edit icon in the Responses limit row, enter a new value, and save. Or click Reset to remove the limit altogether.
Responses you've already collected won't be deleted. If the new limit is lower than the number of responses already collected, new responses will stop coming in right away.
What happens when the limit is reached
New respondents who open the link will see the message "This test is no longer accepting new responses" and won't be able to start.
If a respondent started the test before the limit was reached but finished it after — their response will be saved with the status "Over quota". These responses aren't counted in the final results and don't receive a reward.
Rewards
A reward is a way to thank respondents for participating in your research. Once they're done, they'll see a promocode or a message with a bonus description right on the final screen.
Types of rewards
Promocode — the respondent gets a code they can copy with a tap. There are two ways to hand them out:
One for everyone — all respondents see the same promocode.
Unique promocodes — each respondent gets their own code from a pre-uploaded list.
Other reward — any text: instructions for claiming a bonus, a link, a gift description (for cases when a promocode isn't the right fit).
How to set up a reward
Open the Invite respondents section → Share via link.
In the Rewards block, click Set up.
Choose a reward type and fill in the settings:
Promocode (one for everyone):
Enter the code in the Promocode field.
Fill in the Message for respondents — the text the respondent will see along with the code.
Unique promocodes:
Turn on the Give unique promocodes toggle.
Paste your list of promocodes into the field — each one on a new line or separated by spaces. You can copy them straight from Google Sheets or Excel.
Fill in two messages: Promocode shown — what the respondent sees when they get a code, and No promocodes left — what they see if the list has already run out.
Other reward:
Select Other reward and enter your text in the Message for respondents field. The preview on the right shows exactly what the respondent will see.
Click Save.
After saving, a issued / total counter will appear in the rewards block for unique promocodes.
How to edit or delete a reward
Edit — click the edit icon in the Rewards row.
Delete — click the trash icon and confirm.
If at least one promocode has already been issued, the list of promocodes can no longer be edited. To refresh the list — delete the reward and create a new one. Respondents who've already received codes won't lose them.
If you change the reward type or switch from a single promocode to unique ones, the old codes will be invalidated, but the ones already issued will stay valid.
What the respondent sees
Here's what a respondent will see in the three main scenarios:
Got a reward — on the "Thanks for participating" final screen, your message appears along with the promocode, which they can copy with a tap.
Promocodes ran out — the respondent sees the message from the "No promocodes left" field, no code is shown.
Limit reached — the respondent sees "This test is no longer accepting new responses" and can't start the test.
Rewards in the report
In the Report section, each response card shows the reward status — either it’s issued or not. For unique promocodes, you'll also see the actual code there: handy for checking that a specific respondent got the bonus you promised.
Filtering — you can filter responses by reward status in the report. The filter shows up as soon as at least one response has reward info attached.
Export — when exporting to CSV or XLSX, a Reward column is added: it contains the promocode or reward text, or the value No if no reward was issued.
How limits and rewards work together
These settings are independent, but they affect each other. The key thing to know: a response with the "Over quota" status doesn't count toward your results, but the reward is still issued — as long as there are promocodes left.
Scenario | Response counted | Reward |
Limit not reached, promocodes available | ✅ | Issued |
Limit not reached, promocodes ran out | ✅ | "No promocodes left" message shown |
Limit reached, promocodes available | ❌ Over quota | Issued |
Limit reached, promocodes ran out | ❌ Over quota | Not issued |
Respondent opens the link, limit already reached | — | Research unavailable |
Tip: if you're using unique promocodes, upload a few more than your limit. A few respondents might finish the research at the same time right when the limit is reached — a small buffer ensures everyone gets their code. For example, if your limit is 50 — upload 55–60 promocodes.
