Split groups ensure unique participants for each test within the group. This powerful tool is effective for various purposes, such as A/B testing or conducting multiple research iterations. It's particularly useful when it's crucial that people who've seen previous versions don't participate in new ones, as their experience would be biased.

What is a split group in Wynde?
A split group allows you to create a set of tests and conduct research on non-overlapping audiences.
Within a split group, all testers recruited for different tests are guaranteed to be unique. This setup allows you to compare various versions of a single test (such as those with different prototypes) or evaluate multiple iterations of a solution.
Our team calls the split group link "magical" because it evenly distributes testers randomly across the tests within the group.

How to hire testers for a split group?
You can recruit testers for a split group through our interface or invite testers via a link from your own databases, just as you would for regular tests.
Recruiting for a split group via interface
Recruiting testers for a split group through the interface follows the same process as for individual tests—you launch recruitment within each test. For each test in the group, follow these steps:
Go to the Invite testers tab;
Click on Hire testers;
Set the necessary criteria;
Start recruitment.
With this method, recruitment doesn't happen simultaneously for all tests in the group. Instead, it's a step-by-step process, ensuring each test is fully completed before moving on to the next.
Recruiting for a split group via link
You can invite your own testers using the "magical" link, which will ensure even and random distribution of all those who click on it.
The split test link can be found inside the group itself in the Invite testers tab. This tab will open when there are at least 2 published tests within the group.
You can also add URL tags to the "magical" link. These tags help segment testers or collect additional information. For more details about tags, check out our article:

Tips & tricks
01 Split group test results can be easily compared for insights into variation effectiveness. To do this:
Download reports for each test in .csv or .xlsx format
Combine reports into a single table for side-by-side comparison
Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and significant differences
Use data visualization tools to illustrate key findings
This process enables informed decision-making based on how different variations performed relative to each other.
02 Imagine you have a single channel with all potential testers (e.x. when you’re conducting a hallway study or have a chat with your active users) and you need to conduct five different studies. Instead of sending separate links for each study, you can simply send one "magical" link.
To do this, create a split group and include the studies within it. This approach ensures all testers are unique and evenly distributed across the tests.
